Windows 3.x Setup Instructions
Windows 3.x does not have native support for
getting on the Internet. The best way I have found is to install Internet
Explorer 3.02 with Shiva dialer and TCP/IP stack. You must get Internet
Explorer on disk and install it on your computer. It is available to
download from http://www.pennswoods.net/software/win3/ie3/ in the form
of three files that can fit on three 1.44M floppy disks. This setup
assumes you have access to the internet at some place other than your
home computer and have downloaded these three files to three floppy
disks, as described in the first section.
Downloading Internet Explorer
- Download http://www.pennswoods.net/software/win3/ie3/iew31_1.exe
onto the first floppy disk and label it Disk 1
- Download http://www.pennswoods.net/software/win3/ie3/iew31_2.cab
onto the second floppy disk and label it Disk 2
- Download http://www.pennswoods.net/software/win3/ie3/iew31_3.cab

- At the MS-DOS prompt, type:

- At the MS-DOS prompt, type:
