Unplug the telephone line
from the WebTV unit. (Trust me.)

Start up your WebTV. You'll
be presested with the Connecting to WebTV screen

The WebTV will now try to
dial. Since the line is unplugged, you'll get an error: Your WebTV
receiver is having trouble connecting. Try again in a few minutes.
You'll be presented with three options: [Explain] [Options] [Try Again].
Select Options

The WebTV will then open a
Dialing Options screen. Select Use your ISP
If it is not here, contact WebTV about enabling OpenISP.

You may be presented with
a screen titled Using your own ISP. At the end, select Use your ISP

Otherwise, the next screen
will be titled Using your own ISP. Check the box labelled Check this
box and fill in the blanks...

In the Internet Service Provider
name box, type pennswoods

In the Login name box, type
your Pennswoods.net user name
-
In the Password box, type
your password
-
In the Primary modem number
box, type your local dial-up number
-
In the Backup modem number
box, type the same number
-
Select Done at the bottom
of the screen

Reconnect the telephone line
into the back of the WebTV.

Click on Connect in the lower
right corner of the screen. You WebTV should now connect to Pennswoods.net
