Some programs, such as antivirus software and chat
clients, sometimes attempt to connect to the Internet while unsupervised.
To prevent this:
You might
want to disable the Save password option. Without the password, the
program won't be able to connect.
You might
check to see if your antivirus program has an option to make it prompt
you before it dials up your connection.
You could
choose to Never dial a connection in Internet Explorer's dial-up settings,
and just make a shortcut to the Pennswoods.
Which is under My Computer, Dial-Up Networking. To make a shortcut
just right-click on the Pennswoods icon and then click Create Shortcut
and then just use that to connect to Pennswoods instead of connecting
through Internet Explorer.
