Managing Profiles Under Outlook Express

Outlook Express profiles are an easy and useful way to keep multiple email accounts separate.

To Add a Profile:

  • In Outlook Express, click on File, Identities, Manage Identities
  • Click on the New button
  • Type a name to identify this profile, then click OK
  • You will now be prompted to switch to this new identity. Click Yes
  • Outlook Express will now restart and open under the new identity. You should be prompted to set up a new account. Enter the information for the account you want to set up here.
  • If you're not prompted to set up an account: Click on Tools at the top of the screen, click Accounts, then click on the Add button
  • Click Mail, then proceed to enter the information for your email account(s).

To Switch Between Profiles:

  • In Outlook Express, click on File, Switch Identity
  • Select the identity to switch to by clicking on it
  • Click OK
  • To Remove a Profile:
  • In Outlook Express, click on File, Identities, Manage Identities
  • Select the profile to remove
  • Click on the Remove button
  • When prompted, choose Delete
  • Click the Close button to close the window
