Internet Explorer Window Title Branding

Is Internet Explorer displaying information from another ISP, etc. in the blue bar at the top of the window? What you're seeing is called "branding". Browsers, email clients, and other programs can be modified to display a message in the blue heading of a window. This doesn't affect the program's function at all, but it can be annoying.

To fix the problem:

  • Save this file onto your computer and doule-click on it to open it, or merely open it from here. When prompted, agree. When you close Internet Explorer and re-open it, the branding should be gone.
  • Or, just copy the following text into a file named ie_branding.reg and save it to a disk. To install it, just double-click on the file.
