Disabling WINS under Windows 9x
-
If the computer connects,
but doesn't seem to communicate:
-
Click on Start, Settings,
Control Panel
-
Double-click on the Network
icon
-
Click on TCP/IP
-
Click on the Properties
button
-
Click on the WINS tab
-
Check the circle beside
Disable WINS Resolution
-
Click OK
-
Click OK
-
This only works under Win
95 and 98, not ME, since ME doesn't seem to support WINS.
-
This works faster than reinstalling
TCP/IP.
