SlipStream Interoperability with Common
Security Applications
SlipStream Accelerator is compatible with the following antivirus and firewall applications once these
configuration steps (printed below) are completed.

Norton (Symantec)
SlipStream Accelerator is tested to be compatible with Norton Antivirus and Norton Personal Firewall versions
2003 (v9) and higher.
Personal Firewall The steps below use Norton Internet Security (NIS) 2005 as an example. It is recommended
that you install Norton first, and then install the SlipStream Accelerator afterwards. If you have SlipStream
Accelerator already installed, the steps below still apply to the first time SlipStream tries to connect after
the Norton installation.
1. Once NIS is installed, restart the computer and install SlipStream Accelerator.
2. Reboot the computer after installation.
3. After reboot, when SlipStream Accelerator connects to the server for the first time, Norton will
prompt the user for internet access:
